STRENGTH OF MIND, BODY & SPIRIT is the theme of this monumental sculpture grouping.
The one ton, 24-foot globe is supported by four giant body builders: a Caucasian Female, an African-American Male, a Paralympic Male, and an Ancient Greek Olympian. Each athlete is a gold medalist.
Stars on the globe represent each Olympic host city.
Encircling the base are 45 bronze icons representing each of the Olympic and Pan American Games Federations.
“Olympic Strength” emphasizes Teamwork, as each athlete carries his own weight in support of the Olympic Ideal. The grouping is sculpted in the classic style and is the centerpiece of The U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It is also one of Colorado’s largest bronze monuments, if not its largest.
