Doyle Brunson is the Babe Ruth of poker- a larger-than-life figure who sets the standard for achievement and excellence. He came to personify the notion that gambling could be a respectable profession.
At a young age, this west Texas farm boy was so gifted athletically, that he was drafted by the NBA's Lakers. Sadly, a knee injury ended his dream of becoming a professional athlete. After graduating from college with a Master's Degree in Education Doyle hung up his basketball uniform and sat down at a poker table. And the rest is history.
Doyle and Jon met at the 2009 World Series of Poker where he later commissioned Jon to sculpt the portrait. The sculpture will be finished this Fall.
