| COLUMBUS, OHIO – In March, Jon returned to his alma mater, Columbus College of
Art and Design, where he had received special recognition for his creative
talent. The occasion was the school’s 125th anniversary, and Jon was one of 50
distinguished alumni invited to contribute a work of art to the “Around the
World and Back: 125th Anniversary Alumni Invitational” Exhibit.
Jon was one of two artists invited to attend a special luncheon where he met
Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman.
Jon’s maquette of “Olympic Strength” was selected for the exhibit. It is a
quarter-scale bronze study of a 30-ft. sculpture grouping that he created for
the United States Olympic Committee. Scheduled for a late-Spring dedication at
the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, “Olympic Strength” features
four Olympians holding the world aloft. |
